Start in three steps.

Unzip the download. Install Node.js 24.13 or newer within the Node 24 release line. Docker users can follow the included README instead.
Create your local settings. Open a terminal inside the extracted folder and run node scripts/setup.js. This creates your local .env with a dashboard token.
Run the application. Keep MODE=demo for an offline start, then run npm start. Open http://localhost:8080 and use the dashboard token from your local configuration.

Before paper trading

Read the included README and runbook. Configure your own Alpaca paper credentials locally, review your allocation and loss limits, and verify account reconciliation. Studio custom strategies require a reviewed eligible report before paper activation.

Know the boundaries

The preview is evolving research software. Custom Studio rules currently target long equities. Options research and crypto tracking have separate capabilities. Operating the local service remains your responsibility.

The website demo uses generated prices. The downloadable product is a separate application with provider integrations and its own replay engine. Neither includes a promise of profit.
